World Alzheimer Day
Also known as dementia, Alzheimer’s disease is not well known to many people. World Alzheimer Day is celebrated every year on 21st September to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s. However, no cure or cause has been found for this disease, making it difficult to treat. It can still be handled with a little care and support.
Commonly found in older people, it affects more than 33% of people worldwide. It is a condition that affects their memory, thinking and behaviour, making it difficult for them to perform routine tasks.
It has three stages, which range from mild to moderate to severe. Even in mild conditions, it can be cured by yoga and meditation.
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle such as avoiding drinking alcohol, and maintaining proper blood sugar levels, and cholesterol can help in controlling the disease.
Since Alzheimer’s severely affects memory, it is essential that one practices meditation and yoga daily to stay mentally healthy.
